A version of normality has resumed – Concours 2016 is GO

Back again, you may have noted that following the diligent efforts of a band of intrepid warriors, we have wiped most of the residual scum legacy of ‘the bottom burp hack’, once again we are clean (not unlike a saturdee night scrub) – we are happy, beers are to be had and bikes to be fettled for Concours 2016 is all GO GO GO.
As such, we look forward to seeing one and all at the Cleveland Showgrounds bright and sparkly Sunday morn: gates open 7am – pandemonium around 9ish, should plague, pestilence or catastrophic ticketing event occur: we will be there – possibly with a brolly, but it’ll only be a sun brolly – ha haaaaaaarrr.
Fun facts: Did you know a 1971 CB100 pulls 8.2Hp on the concours dyno and yet its illegal to ride it onto a bus.

Being Hacked by some bottom Burp

Howdy Ho, our apologies for the somewhat ‘hacked’ version of our new website format – it would appear that our website creator (now in the running for external DHOTY) left the back door open with all the security systems off.

Regardless – Concours de Elegance continues. We are hoping to resolve our ‘technical issues’ directly, with fortune we will see you there on Sunday, should there be circumstances of ‘plague, pestilence or inclement weather we will update this site accordingly.

Sunday July 17th 2016

Sunday July 17th, 2016
28th ANNIVERSARY CONCOURS
Venue Cleveland Show Grounds, Norm Price Park
Long Street, Cleveland. Qld 4163

Presented by Club Laverda Qld Inc. (CLQ), CONCOURS 2016 is a static motorcycle display offering some 60 trophies and $2000 for the best machine entered on the day.

As such, it is the only event of its kind in Australia engaging exhibitors and motorcycle enthusiasts from the entire east coast.
Major Sponsors of CONCOURS include Penrite Oil, Gasoline Alley, Brisbane Motorcycles, Team Moto Motorcycles, and Bayside Yamaha.

CONCOURS judging is done by respected motorcycle enthusiasts from a variety of backgrounds including popular motorcycle journalism. The winner of Best in Show from last year will be a guest judge this year. The judgesí decision is final.

Again this year, the popular DYNO is making an appearance at Concours with trophies offered for the most horsepower for machines under 750cc, over 750cc, and V-Twin machines.

CONCOURS 2016 at Cleveland will be the sixth event at Cleveland and the 28th annual Concours DíElegance presented by CLQ the result of the Story Bridge Concours (running for some 22 years) outgrowing the Kangaroo Point venue at Captain Burke Park.

A $10.00 gate fee applies to patrons over 15 years and includes on-site motorcycle parking. An additional $10.00 entry fee applies to enthusiasts wishing to enter their machines for judging and trophies and to be eligible for the $2000 prize for “Best in Show”. Machines entered for judging must be in running order.

The success of CONCOURS 2016 is assured providing the weather is fair. Should wet weather prevail the event will be postponed to a date to be set. Visit www.clublaverdaqld.com for information regarding postponement in the days prior to the event.

The event is alcohol free and as such is a family day raising funds for the Make a Wish Foundation and the Racesafe Medical Team. Over the past 12 years CLQ has given some $65,000 to this worthy charity. ($10,000 was the donation to Make a Wish from Concours 2015)

CONCOURS attracts motorcycle trade stalls (30 approx.), motorcycle enthusiast club displays (35 approx.), and motorcycle enthusiasts both local and interstate. Entertainment includes a wide variety of food vendors, free face painting, kiddieís rides, and live music provided by the popular local act, the Dave Ritter Band.

At midday a Make a Wish Foundation representative makes a speech introducing a Make a Wish recipient. At 2.30 trophy presentations for the actual Concours D’Elegance winners is conducted.

This event is newsworthy, providing a positive spin on the motorcycling community. There will be ample opportunity for photos, video, and interviews with the ìnormalî motorcycling community.
